Focuses on ensuring that support and assistance is available for inbound and outbound military personnel and their family members. For more information, call 410-278-2464. This program includes:
- Military Homefront/Military Installations Guide (Formerly known as Standard Installation Topic Exchange Service: SITES) is computerized destination information on military installations worldwide.
- Newcomer’s Orientation: Designed to help arriving families get acquainted with their new military and civilian community. This is held quarterly at the Aberdeen Recreation Center in Building 3326.
- Installation Welcome Packets: Welcome Packets consist of information on the installation, local community, schools, employment, daycare, medical and dental, housing, a welcome letter, the APG Home Alone Policy, maps of the Aberdeen and Edgewood Areas, and a courtesy Phone Book from ACS with listings of on-post and some off-post agencies.
- Lending Closet: Provides basic housekeeping items, for temporary loan, to incoming and outgoing military personnel and their families. The ACS Lending Closet is equipped with dishes, pots and pans and other kitchen items, some baby items, and futons. These items are loaned on a 30-day basis, extensions will be granted for those awaiting household goods.
- Relocation Counseling Service: This service is provided on an individual basis and focuses on pre-departure counseling and relocation planning.
- Service to Waiting Families: Consists of assessment on the need for services and information for family members that stay behind due to TDY orders or deployment.
- Citizenship Classes: Are offered to prepare military personnel, or their family members, for the Citizenship Test .
- English for Speakers of other languages: This class offers foreign-born adults an opportunity to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills. Language classes: Spanish, Korean, German.
