Basketball FAQ
How are teams formed?
If there is more then one team in each age group, a skills assessment will be conducted with all coaches and the Sports Staff present for equality of teams.
How many players are allowed on a team?
We will allow rosters to have 12 players in league play.
Can a pre-formed team enter a team at APG?
No, this league is recreational and is based on developing a child's skills.
How many games will be played?
There will be six games scheduled for the clinic, ages 4-6. In league play, there will be approximately eight games.
When and where will games begin?
In clinic, all games/practice will occur at either Youth Center on Saturdays. League play begins on Jan 3, 2009. Directions to these facilities will be issued to the coaches with the schedules.
What about refunds?
Eligible refunds are: medical or PCS.
When are practices held?
Since volunteers coach the teams, the coaches dictate the days of practices. All teams cannot practice more than twice a week. After registration and prior to the season, a coaches meeting will occur to select and assign gym time for the season.

BASKETBALL
Anyone interested in coaching, refereeing or scorekeeping, contact the CYS Sports Office. All players must be CYS members to participate.

The Youth Sports and Fitness program provides support for children 2-1/2 to 18 years of age to encourage healthy life-long habits. Team sports are only available with the participation of volunteer coaches and assistants. All coaches are trained and certified by the National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS). Players must be registered with CYS in order to enroll.
