Start Smart Sports Programs
Aberdeen and Edgewood CYSS Sports programs offer this program designed to teach basic sports skills in a non-competitive environment, that the major benefit is having the parents spend quality time with their child.
Start Smart Basketball is for Boys and Girls ages 3-5 who want to play basketball while being coached by their Mom or Dad. Program will be held on Mondays beginning Mar 22. Child must be 3 by the start of the program. Parent participation is required. Each Child receives t-shirt, (2) basketballs, skills handbook, and medals. Registration is Feb 16 – Mar 11; program is held on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30, beginning Mar 22, 2010.
Start Smart Football is for ages 4 and 7. Child must be 4 by the start of the program.
Registration is Jun 1 – 22; program is held on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30, Jun – Aug, 2010.
Start Smart Soccer for ages 3 - 5. Child must be 3 by start of the program.
Registration is Jul 10 – 31; program is held on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:30, Aug - Sep, 2010.
Registration is held at CYS Central Registration, Bldg 2752 by appointment. Call 278-7571/7479.
Fee for each program is $40.
The Youth Sports and Fitness program provides support for children 2-1/2 to 18 years of age to encourage healthy life-long habits. Team sports are only available with the participation of volunteer coaches and assistants. All coaches are trained and certified by the National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS). Players must be registered with CYS in order to enroll.
