Personal coaching will help golfers to discover the significance of IMPACT - the moment of truth! Through fun, informative and easy to understand explanations and demonstrations, golfers will come to understand the cause and effect of the golf swing. A wide variety of proven training aids and practice drills are used in conjunction with video feedback to ingrain the swing path and the sensation of proper tempo, rhythm and timing throughout the swing.
Teaching emphasis is placed on the short game, as 60 percent of all strokes come from within 100 yards of the hole. Not only are scoring techniques developed, but ball striking ability is improved, with the added benefit of enhanced hand-eye coordination. State of the art frame-by-frame video swing analysis is offered to visually compare golfers' strengths and flaws side by side with touring pros' swings. The golfer can instantly see the swing changes as they are being applied. Rules, etiquette, stretching and more are covered for new players and juniors.
Ruggles' PGA ProfessionalDave began playing golf in 1974. After winning the 1989 Maryland Amateur Stroke Play Championship, he turned professional in 1990.
He played some on ten Ben Hogan tours (now the Nationwide Tour), as well as several mini-tours. He has won approximately 50 tournaments in his career. He was certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation in 1992, when he opened an indoor teaching facility, Athletic Golf Instruction. He worked at Churchville Golf Center from 1996 until 2004. He has approximately 3,500 students, and has given over 10,000 lessons.
Dave is presently the Manager/Golf Professional at Ruggles Golf Course on Aberdeen Proving Ground. He has been married since 1980 to his wife Monica. They have a son, Dave, Jr., born in 1995.
