SKIES - Academic Tutoring

2016-2017 School Year

Location: Aberdeen Area Youth Center; Bldg 2522 Bayside Drive
Time: Tue, Wed, or Thu; 3–6 p.m.
Cost: 6 sessions - $180; 12 sessions - $336
Ages: Grades K – 8th grade

Learning BYTS Tutoring has partnered with SKIES to offer academic tutoring for grades K-8 to include all subject areas.  PRIVATE 60 minute sessions.  Lessons meet weekly.  Assessment is required to determine areas of needed help. 

Lessons are scheduled Tue, Wed, or Thu for 60 minutes, one to two times a week.  You may sign up for 6 sessions at a time or 12 sessions (a savings of $24).

Registration is on-going as long as there is space available.

SKIES - SAT Preparation Spring Workshop

Mar 23-May 4, 2017
Sessions meet on Thursday for 6 weeks

Location: Aberdeen Youth Center (Bldg 2522), Tech Lab
Time: 6-8 p.m.
Cost: $225 (includes the cost of the SAT Prep Book)

Get ready for the SATs with Ms. Sue Fassold and team. They work with students of all levels to prepare to take all areas of the SATs: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Online video chat small-group sessions are offered at the Aberdeen Youth Center Tech Lab. Limited to 5 students per session.

SAT Test Dates: Mar 11 and May 6 (Class does not include the test).

SKIES - Private Piano & Guitar Lessons

2017 Spring Session

Location: Aberdeen Area Youth Services, Bldg 2522
Time: Mon, Tue, or Wed; 3:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Ages: Piano 4-18 yrs / Guitar 7-18 yrs

Private 30 minute sessions.  Lessons meet weekly.  Book fee is not included.  Please be prepared to pay for books at the start of the class.

Mondays: Apr 10 – May 8 (4 lessons)  $72 (NO CLASS Mon, Apr 17)
Tuesdays: Apr 11 – May 9 (5 lessons) $90
Wednesdays: Apr 19 – May 10 (4 lessons) $72

Location: Corvias Community Center, 2658 Chesapeake Ave, APG, MD
Time: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Cost: $20 supply fee (per class)
Ages: 7+

SKIES instructional cooking classes will teach children different skills to prepare foods including how to follow a recipe, measurements, kitchen safety and sanitation. Children will cook up to 3 dishes including a main dish and a dessert. Some recipes will require help from an adult when repeated at home.

Classes are held one Saturday each month. Registration is needed for each class. Parents are not required to stay on site during class.

Time: 5 - 8:15 p.m. (Mon-Thu)
Cost: $310
Ages: 15.9 - 18 yrs

Class includes 30 hours classroom time, and 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction. Parents must attend first class with student. Students are preferred to have their Learner’s Permit prior to starting classes. Last day to register is one week prior to each start date.

EFMP & CYS - Adaptive Basketball

LOCATION: Aberdeen Area Youth Center
DATES: Mar 15, 22, & 29 (Wednesdays)
TIME: 5:45-6:45 p.m.
COST: FREE

Learn basic basketball skills through stations and games! Open to children with special needs ages 5-18 and all family members. Parent participation required. Open to children with Special Needs ages 5-18 and all family members.
